What each core asset did in the past
CAGR = average yearly growth. Max DD = biggest fall from a peak. Loss % = share of past windows that ended below zero. Windows overlap, so use these as a rough guide. Past results do not predict the future.

Fallen but strong: reversal finder
research, unprovenStep 1: stocks that fell at least 25% from their 3-year high. Step 2: yearly numbers still look healthy. Step 3: the chart shows signs of a bottom. Each stock shows exactly which checks pass, so you decide.
Honest limits. We backtested the price rules (fall plus chart signs) on 7 years, monthly entries, after costs: no edge. Versus all liquid stocks, the picks were about -1 to +1.5 points per holding period, the edge flipped sign between the first and second half, and it changed with the entry day. Only the 5-signs version looked positive, but on about 1,000 overlapping picks and not stable. The quality check cannot be properly backtested (Yahoo gives only about 4 yearly points, and delisted stocks are missing). A stock can look strong on old yearly numbers and still be falling for a real reason, so read the company news before acting. Use the "stop-watch level" (below the recent 60-day low) to limit loss. This is a screen, not advice.
Raw momentum list (top 15)
unprovenChecks use Yahoo's latest yearly figures: return on equity at least 12%, debt below equity, profit and sales growing. Checks 4/4 means all four pass. This is a checklist, not backtested, and data can be missing or wrong.

Limits you should know
- Core history uses ETF prices from Dec 2008. Midcap is the Nifty Midcap 50 index (price only, no dividends). The liquid fund is an assumed 6% a year, not a real series.
- Mixes are rule-of-thumb guides, not optimised and not personal advice. Your tax, goals and existing assets are not considered.
- Satellite stocks: in our tests the momentum edge was about 0 to +6 points a year in the 100-200 most traded names, and it disappears after plausible hidden losses (delisted stocks are missing from our data). That is why it is capped small.
- Reversal and 1-week breakout screens failed our tests and are not included.
- Data: Yahoo Finance, unofficial and possibly delayed.
